Recently I got to go with my family on the annual trip to the beach. We’ve gone every year, and we always camp out about a mile from the ocean.
As we all get older and move off to make our own lives, time like that is rarer and rarer–and more special. This week was a treasure.
One of my favorite moments was when there was a meteor shower so we drove off to find the darkest clearing. We laid out our blankets and just looked at the stars and my dad played guitar. It was perfect.
Also we parked by a No Parking sign and got busted, so it was also adventurous.
