In this painting, I wanted to express the tender, loving care which Jesus has for each of us, the empathy that He has when we experience struggles in our lives. I hope that viewers can place themselves in the position of the person He’s embracing, and that’s why I don’t show a face there. He’s holding that person–you–as close to His heart as He can, and His knit brow conveys the feelings which He shares with you. He’s there to comfort you.
