Flying to Heaven

Posted on

Recently, a friend’s dad died at the age of 99. He was a pilot all his life (having gotten his flying license at the age of 16!) and he flew the original piper cubs. In his later years after his eyesight got bad, he continued to fly on a flight simulation with three huge TV’s. The simulation could go anywhere, but he loved to just fly around the local counties where he had flown real planes.

When he died, my dad imagined him flying one of his old planes into Heaven with Jesus in the cockpit with him, showing him the way and the wonders of Heaven. Dad asked me to paint it to give as a gift to his daughter. It was really special to me to be there with my family to give her the painting.
