My nephew Kepha has one of the deepest minds I’ve ever encountered. He always has comments about faith and spirituality that leave me speechless. I’m amazed not only by the depth of his faith, but also by the quality of the questions he has about God. He seems to have a very keen sense of the supernatural. He’s also just a very charming person, and joy lights up his smile and his eyes. In this painting, I wanted to express his awareness of his guardian angel (who probably has to work overtime on him) and the delight and wonder he knows by his angel’s presence.
