Corner of the Marketplace by Edward Poynter

Edward Poynter was born on March 20, 1836 in Paris, but he was an English painter, draughtsman, and designer.  His parents were in France for only a short while over the time he was born.

Poynter held the positions of professor, principal, president, and director throughout his life in art schools and galleries.  Of course he was also a skilled painter.  Below are shown his Pea Blossoms and Cave of the Storm Nymphs.
