Grandma and Grandpa’s Wedding Portrait

One of my most recent commissions was from my parents.  They wanted to give my grandma a special gift, so they asked me to paint my grandparents’ wedding portrait.  I loved working on it so much, but the process did not compare to giving it to my grandma.

I got to join my family for the annual road trip from Pennsylvania to western Kansas, which was such a blessing, and to be there when they gave the painting to my grandma.  I think she actually lost her breath.  She loved it so much.  She means more to me than words can say, so it meant a lot to me to take part in a gift that could mean so much to her.
